Panel discussion on CSOs role in EU Accession Negotiation
Centre for European Integration of Belgrade Open School has organized panel discussion “Speak about Negotiations – Active Involvement of Civil Society in Monitoring Negotiation Process with the EU” in Human Rights House in Belgrade on 30th of May 2013. The Panel discussion was organized as a part of programme of Fifth Civil Society Organizations Fair.
The accession negotiations are most demanding phase of European integration process and, although often neglected, role of the civil society organizations (CSOs) is of great importance. CSOs are the communication bridge between citizens and public authorities and therefore, their involvement in negotiation monitoring process is going to give much more visibility to the process, but it will also decrease political influence. Thus, the process is going to be familiar to every citizen.
Ivana Cirkovic, director of Office for Cooperation with Civil Society of Government of Republic of Serbia and Vladimir Pavlovic, coordinator of Centre for European Integration of Belgrade Open School were the panel discussion speakers.
