Presentation of Project „ConSENSus – Partnership Approach in Environmental Decision Making Process“

Centre for European Integration (CEI) of the Belgrade Open School (BOS), Aarhus Centre Kragujevac, UNECOOP Paracin and Centre for Energy Efficiency Vrsac on June 4th, 2013 has organised Initial Meeting in which they presentated the Project „ConSENSus – Partnership Approach in Environmental Decision Making Process“.

At the Initial Meeting Coordinator of CEI Mirko Popovic, on behalf of the ConSENSus Project team has presented the objectives and the activities that will be implemented within the Project and Secretary of the Environment Board of Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities Ljubinka Kaludjerovic has presented initiative for establishing the network of Environmental Commissioners in Serbia.

Initial meeting was attended by representatives of government institutions, civil society, academia and business.

Project „ConSENSus – Partnership Approach in Environmental Decision Making Process“ improves mechanisms and practices of CSO participation in effective environmental decision making process at local level trough advocacy, establishment of local Green Councils and development of decision-making model for their functioning. On the long term, project contributes to the creation and implementation of environmental policy, based on the active involvement of civil society in decision-making process and consensus of all stakeholders.

This project is supported by the SENSE program implemented by the Regional Environmental Centre (REC). The program is funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
