An initiative for organization of Green forum in municipality of Paraćin has been started

Consultative workshop has been held within the ConSENSus – Partnership Approach in Environmental Decision Making Process project, on July 9th, 2013, when the initiative for organization of Green forum in municipality of Paraćin has been started.

Since establishing  local Green forums and making of decision models for their functioning are among main tasks of ConSENSus project, Vladimir Pavlović from Belgrade Open School has presented a model for organization and functioning of Green forums in local communities. Srđan Matović from Aarhus center, Kragujevac, has informed all participants of the workshop about significance of the Aarhus Convention which enables citizens of Serbia the right on access to environmental information and also about tasks that Serbia, and particulary local governments, is obliged to fulfil during the process of negotiation with EU. Representatives of local governments, civil society and bussines sector which attended this workshop have showed interest for institutionaly strenghtening of capacities of Paraćin municipality in environmental problems solving.

The project is realized within SENSE program of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and in Serbia is implemented by Regional Environmental Center (REC).
