The Training for Green Council Members in Municipality of Trstenik
On Wednesday, 26th of February 2014, at 11:00 h, the training for members of recently founded Green Council was held in Municipality Council Hall in Trstenik.
Together with City of Vranje, Municipality of Batocina and Municipality of Paracin, Minicipality of Trstenik has established Green Council as a consultative working body that will gather representatives of stakeholders for participation in creating and implementing environmental policy on local level.
Tre training was focused on strenghtening capacities of Council members regarding their future effective work. The training was organized in several parts. First part was focused on role of Green Council in process of adopting regulations on local level. Marko Tomasevic from Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalitie was holding a lecture on this part of training.
Second part of the training was focused on information and public participation in creating environmental policy. Council members have acquired knowledge on procedure for accessing information of public importance in environmental matter, as well as on Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention). Mirko Popovic from Centre for European Integration of Belgrade Open School and Ljubinka Kaludjerovic from Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities were lecturing at this part of training. With the help of Mirko Popovic and Srdjan Matovic from Aarhus Centre from Kragujevac, at the very end of training council members have also planned set of future activities of Council.
Training in Trstenik was organized within “ConSENSus: Partnership Approach in Environmental Decision Making” which is being implemented as a part of “SENSE” program of Regional Environmental Centre supported by Swedish Agency for International Development.
