The Round Table: Challenges of Negotiations Chapter 27 – Environment
On Friday, 5th of December 2014, in Novi Sad the round table named “Challenges of Negotiation Chapter 27” has been organized by the Aarhus Centre Novi Sad. This round table has been organized within the project named “By implementing Aarhus Convention we improve Environment and raise Awareness”. The round table was attended by the representatives of Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Provincial Secretariat for Urbanism, Construction and Environmental Protection, local self-government units’ administration, public and private companies, non-governmental organizations and media from South Backa District.
The participants had an opportunity to be introduced with the European Union (EU) accession negotiations process, negotiations chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Changes, results achieved so far in the negotiation process, as well as civil society representatives’ participation in the activities of Parliamentary Environmental Protection Committee as a part of “Green Dialogue” (“Zeleni dijalog”) project.
As a representative of Belgrade Open School, Danijela Bozovic has presented “Let’s Speak about Negotiations” initiative and overall Serbian EU accession negotiations process. Lidija Kesar from NGO Fraktal, as a representative of “Lice 27” coalition has presented brief overview of main conclusions from this year’s Serbian European integration progress report and activities made within negotiation chapter 27. Coalition named “Lice 27” is monitoring overall Serbian EU accession negotiation process in the area of climate changes and environment.
