Implementation of Waste Management Policy in Serbia

Implementation of Waste Management Policy in Serbia is a research project in the field of waste management policy in Serbia. Based on the experiences that are collected at research institutions in the EU and Slovakia in the form of  Policy Paper, project had aim to initiate a broad and open discussion about the problem of policy implementation of waste management in Serbia.

The overall project objective was to develop sustainable, effective waste management policy in Serbia in accordance with contemporary EU standards in this specific policy area. The specific objectives were: to overcome the information gaps, to achieve better mutual knowledge about the opportunities, to find ways to overcome obstacles in the implementation of laws pertaining to waste management, to raise awareness of benefits on realistic and efficient waste management policy on local level.

Belgrade / Bratislava / Brussels, November 2010 - March 2011

Ministry for environment and spatial planning of the Republic of Serbia, Agency for Cooperation with NGOs and for European Harmonization of the City of Belgrade, The government  of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina of the Republic of Serbia, Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SKGO) of Serbia.
