Centre for European Integration of Belgrade Open School, with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, within the project “Towards Sustainable Dialogue for Improving the Environmental Law” organised several panel discussions and conferences with the aim to strengthen the position of National Assembly of Serbia in the decision-making process and monitoring law implementation through the work of parliamentary boards. In Serbia 2010 Progress Report European Commission emphasised the need for further improvement of legislative body and stressed the necessity for public consultations on the content and impact of draft law. Within the project “Towards Sustainable Dialogue for Improving the Environmental Law” three conferences were held in three different cities in Serbia: Nis, Obrenovac and Belgrade
Project’s aim is to improve environmental law implementation and strengthen dialogue between legislative and executive body and local authorities. In addition, aim was also the improvement of cooperation between National Assembly, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, local authorities and interested parties in the process of environmental law implementation.
