The aim of the project "Approaching Europe – Contribution of Civil Society Organisation for Promotion of European Values in Belgrade" was to promote and encourage cross-sector partnerships in the designing and implementation of development policies of the City of Belgrade in the European integration process. The project was dedicated to solving the problem of insufficient involvement of civil society in decision-making processes and the introduction of European standards at the local level.
The project was using the methodology of Structured Dialogue and recommendations of the Code of Good Practice for Civil Participation in Decision-making Process of Council of Europe which promotes dialogue, introducing effective mechanisms for citizen participation in practical and political life of the local community, through consultative meetings which delivers recommendations for solving specific problems.
Through the Educational Program 15 CSO representatives were trained to identify problems of local character and advocacy practical political solutions based on EU standards and values.
