New project: Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments

The goal of the project “Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments” is to raise transparency of local governments in Serbia through monitoring of accessibility of public information on their web pages, and strengthening capacities of civil society organizations of local governments themselves. 

The research will improve their situation in a way that they will be capable to further develop new and improve existing mechanisms for better transparency of local administrations and work of CSO. This approach will better local administrations’ services for citizens making them more accessible, easier and more efficient.

 The methodology will strengthen capacities of 50 local CSO for monitoring of transparency of their local governments and raise their understanding of about transparency of local authorities and its important for accountability, CSOs’ activism, sustainability of their activities and fight against corruption.

“Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments” implements Belgrade Open School with the support of The Delegation of the European Union to Serbia.

Project lasts for 18 months, starting from December 2014 until May 2016.
