Training for members of the editorial staff of youth portal Mingl was held on Saturday at the Belgrade Open School. Training, which was held by the members of the professional team of Belgrade Open School, consisted of workshops on teamwork, career guidance, writing a CV and motivational letter.

Belgrade Open School announced the results of this year's research of transparency of municipalities in Serbia, which are available on the website www.dostup.no (available in Serbian language only). Website was created in the scope of the project “Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments”. On this website user can find the results of last year's research, thus make the comparison of municipalities according to the level of transparency in two periods. The survey included an in depth analysis of websites and information booklets of 169 municipalities in Serbia.

In partnership with Toplica center for Democracy and Human Rights, BOS organized a conference on 18th May in Media Center Belgrade named “Local Transparency: Local transparency: fight against corruption and prospect for development” as the final activity in the scope of project "Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments". Conference gathered 80 participants, among others Anti-Corruption Agency Serbia, Directorate for eGovernment, donors and civil society organizations.

Within the project "Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments”, Belgrade Open School in partnership with Toplica Center for Democracy and Human Rights organized Capacity Building Programme for local CSOs „We Have Something against Corruption“ in Vrnjačka Banja from 9th until 11th March and from 11th until 13th March. This programme gathered 50 representatives of local CSOs, who had opportunity to attend sessions about importance of civic participation, proactive transparency of public authorities, monitoring of public finances, data visualization, about role of civil society in the fight against corruption and also about the role of state institutions in area of free access to information of public importance and audit procedures of local government's budgets.

Within the projects "Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments” and Grant Support Scheme Belgrade Open School organized meeting with civil society organizations on 19th February in the premises of Belgrade Open School. After representation of „Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments“ project, 5 civil society organizations which are supported through Grant Support Scheme, presented their projects which will be implemented in next three months in Sečanj, Opovo, Loznica, Mali Zvornik and Blace.

Civil society organizations that attented the meeting are “Moć reči” “Građanski savet opštne Mali Zvornik“, “Podrinjski antikorupcijski tim”, “Inicijativa mladih Opovo” and “Intermedia”. They had opportunity to listen about financial project management, successfully project management and how to through mutual campaign improve local transparency.

On this meeting introductory speech were held by Milorad Bjeletić and Sanja Nasevski from Belgrade Open School and Dragan Dobrašinović from Toplica Center for Democracy and Human Rights as partner on this project. Sessions were held by members of project team of Belgrade Open School.

22. Oct 2015.

Within the project "Local Transparency Booster: Raising Accountability and Prevention of Corruption in Local Governments”, Belgrade Open School organized "Counselling about free access to information of public importance", in Vrnjacka Banja from 19th until 21st October. Counselling was organized after six months of research on transparency of public information and implementation of Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance on a local government's level.

Media try to communicate with every member of society. But we have to ask whether media have special tailor made strategy for each of its target groups? Some stories, if presented from one angle, are more attractive to elders, and if you put it differently, then those same stories can be more interesting for youth. Thus, it is important to give special treatment to each target group, and develop program and subjects according to that.

The representative of Belgrade Open School Sanja Nasevski participated in ninth “e-Society” conference, which took place on February 7th and 8th 2014 in Skopje, Macedonia. The conference addressed the topic of Youth and Media, and the main focus was on subjects related to Youth-Led Media, Media Literacy and Information Quality, Digital Media Activism, Music, Visual, Movement etc.
