5th Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism was held from 12-14 of May 2015 in Jerusalem. The main objective of this Forum is to assesse the state of Antisemitism globally, and formulating effective forms of societal and governmental response. 

The Global Forum this year was focused on two main themes:

1. The Oldest Hatred in the Newest Vessels: Confronting Antisemitism and Hate Speech on the Internet and in Social Media 

2. The Rise of Antisemtism in Europe's Cities Today: Means of Response

CIRel representative participated during the entire Global Forum.

CIRel representative participated at the Conference "1914 -2014: Lessons from History?" held from 16-18 of September 2014. in Vienna, Austria. The Conference was organised by NECE-a (Networking European Citizenship Education).

The 2014 NECE Conference offered a platform for pursuing current issues in citizenship education in Europe: Are our current patterns of thinking and discourse still appropriate for dealing with the particular challenges and crises of the European democracies today?

CIRel representative attended World Alliance of Religions: Peace Summit 2014. This summit took place from September 16th to September 19th 2014. in Seul, South Korea.

This Summit seeks to create a forum for dialogue centring on the creation of a commonly acceptable value-system between secular and religious communities in all socio-political sectors of our diverse societies.

CIRel representative attended the 9th International Conference on Holocaust Education.This conference took place from July 7-10, 2014 at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

The objective of this conference was to bring together Holocaust survivors, scholars, educators and artists from four generations.Over 400 participants from 50 different countries engaged in an educational, intergenerational and multicultural dialogue on how we will preserve the legacy and grapple with the challenges of Holocaust education in the years to come.

CIRel representative was a part of Visitors program, on the invitation of the German Federal Agency and German Embassy in the Republic of Serbia. This visit took place in Berlin (Germany), from 22nd to 26th of June 2014, with the topic "Life of Jews in Germany today“.

CIRel representative took part in work of round table with the topic “Political responsibility of the Christians – engagement in creating responsible politics”, which was organized by the Centre for the Study of Religion, Politics and Society and Christian Cultural Centre dr Radovan Bigovic on 8th of May 2014.

CIRel representative participated on April 26th 2014 in work of the Conference “Possibilities for the dialogue between Christianity and atheism/Colonisation of the Christianity – pro and contra”. This Conference was held in Belgrade, in organization of Christian Cultural Centre dr Radovan Bigovic and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

CIRel representative participated in the work of round table “Conflicts and the role of citizenship education in conflict management and reconciliation – a preparatory workshop for NECE (Networking European Citizenship Education) Conference in Vienna” organized by The German Federal Agency for Civic Education. The round table was held in Belgrade, from 30th od March to 1st of April 2014.

16. May 2014.

Centre for Religious Studies of the Belgrade Open School held educational program  “Education of the culture of remembrance - the study of the Holocaust in Serbia” from 13th until 16th of May 2014, in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Foundation, International School for Holocaust Studies Yad Vashem and Jasenovac Committee of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The program that lasted 4 days, gathered 35 participants (current as well as future lecturers), with the goal to fulfil the lack of formal educational knowledge on Holocaust in Serbia, to put Holocaust in the position of a public question, interpreted by the experts and the survivors, and to, through the affirmation of the culture of remembrance, contribute to the development of the culture of peace.

Participants gained relevant knowledge about Holocaust through the lectures of eminent lecturers from Yad Vashem and local experts, as well as through workshops and visits to scaffolds and  memorial sites with the expert, meetings with the survivors etc. Program participants were encouraged to use the gained knowledge in their academic and educational areas.  

21. Mar 2014.

Center for Religious Studies, politics and society in cooperation with the Center for Religious Studies of the Belgrade Open School, organized a one-day conference for priests, seminarians, religious teachers, NGO activists as well as students and graduates of the social sciences that are involved or have a desire to get involved in religiously motivated peace activism. Conference was held on Thursday, March 20th 2014.
