Occupied by Future Occupation - improving the employability of youth through career informing on occupations of high school students

The project "Occupied by Future Occupation - improving the employability of youth through career informing on occupations of high school students" was devoted to enhance the employability of youth through the enhancement of the system of career informing on occupations for high school students.

Within the project a two-day training for 21 teachers and professional staff (two representatives from 10 schools) was organized. The program is accredited by the Institute for the Advancement of Education. The training was held on August 11-13, 2013 in Kovacica, Serbia.

Once implemented, trained teams of teachers / professional staff organized career informing workshops for students of their schools. The project envisaged the organization of job shadowing visits (visits to representatives of certain occupations on their work places) in order to help young people to get more acquainted with the nature of certain occupations and potential employers. BOS organized 8 monitoring visits to assist teachers and professional staff in carrying out workshops or visits to the representatives of certain occupations.

Videos on the characteristics of particular occupations were presented at the Virtual Fair of Occupations that were created within the portal karijera.bos.rs/sajam

The project was implemented in the period from June 1 - November 30, 2013, and the implementation of activities was supported by Solidar Suisse / Swiss Labour Assistance (SLA) - Office in Serbia.
