Training organized for the mentors within the project “PRAKSAM – Introducing the youth to the world of work through internship placements”

On December 13th, Belgrade Open School organized a one-day training within the project “PRAKSAM – Introducing the youth to the world of work through internship placements”, intended for the representatives of all the companies involved in the project, who were delegated the roles of mentors.

The training took place in the premises of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. The aim of the training was sharing experiences among mentors as well as getting a set of advice, guidelines, and rules concerning mentoring process and responsibilities, as well as management styles.

During the training the participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the concept and process of mentorship, together with all the elements of the mentor-intern relationship. They were explained how to create job descriptions and evaluate interns’ competences, and learned about different styles of mentoring, as well as developing an action plan. Mentors can use these guidelines with new employees in their companies. The training was held by Jelena Manic Radoicic, Program Manager in charge of Employability Enhancement Program and Milica Paskulov, HR Consultant and a licensed coach with years of experience, having cooperated with over 100 companies.

The project "PRAKSAM – Introducing youth to the world of work through internship placements“ is implemented by Belgrade Open School and in partnership with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and American Chamber and Commerce (AmCham), with the financial support of the Ministy of Youth and Sports.
